Our Ranges
Our Facilities are first class, all set against the beautiful Burke Mountain, in Coquitlam British Columbia Canada.
The 300m Range
The newest available state-of-the-art electronic Swiss target system featuring 6 targets with monitors, printers, spectator screen. All these features can be monitored by the computer in the office. Our club members compete in an annual club championship program according to strict Swiss rules, comprising 7 different matches including Swiss Military ones. We also participate in various postal matches with Swiss clubs or Kantons. The season always ends with a well attended Saushoot where each shooter goes home with some meat.
The Trap Range
A short distance from the Clubhouse, is the Trap field. This range is built to international standards. The shooters shoot towards a backdrop of the magnificent vista of Burke Mountain. Chances are a local bear or deer will be seen munching on the tall grass around the field. This is a great sport to be enjoyed by spectators. The highlight of the season is our Cheese shoot, where all competitors share a piece from a whole wheel of Gruyere.
50m Pistol & Small Bore Range
Small Bore is where youngsters find their start in target shooting. This range is also equipped with the newest electronic target technology. There are six small bore electronic targets and there are two electronic and two running pistol targets. The pistol competition has an annual program of 6 matches including 2 Swiss military ones. The small bore is used by many as an excellent way to practice as the cost of ammunition is reasonable. For the competitive shooter a 6-match annual competition is available.
The Crossbow Range
Swiss shooting would not be complete without the William Tell weapon. The Crossbow obviously no longer resembles the one used by Tell, but is a very accurate weapon with adjustable sights and must be loaded with the help of a lever. It has a 400 Lb pull. The 10 ring is smaller than a dime. The 30m Crossbow Range is located between the Trap field and the Clubhouse which is equipped with eight running targets. The targets are retrieved by pressing a button which results in the targets being brought very close to the shooter, so that the arrow can be easily removed without changing the shooter’s position.
The 10m Indoor Range
When the weather declines late in Fall, shooting activities are moved to the 10m range inside the Chalet. Here you will find four electronic targets and one running crossbow target. Due to its reasonable cost and small space requirement, air rifle and pistol shooting has become a very popular sport worldwide. With changes made to the offhand rules, even the seniors can now enjoy this sport.
