On a rainy fall afternoon, dedicated shooters made their way to the chalet for the annual Consul Cup match, sponsored by our Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver, Thomas Schneider. He generously presented our winners with Swiss wine from Geneva and Basel as prizes.
Thank you to Shirley Keras, Cecilia Decurtins, and Geoffrey Chang for preparing the delicious lunch and special dinner. The dinner showcased the culinary traditions of Switzerland’s Tessin region featuring roasted beef bone marrow, Brasato di Ticino con Polenta and roasted fennel. For dessert Torta di pane from Ticine and latte di Vechia (old woman’s liquer).
Also thank you to Ava, Mia and all our volunteers helping serve dishes and cleanup during and after dinner.
Moreover, Ava celebrated her 16th birthday. Happy birthday, Ava!
“Who Am I” Photo Contest
Barb presented the winner of the “Who Am I” Photo Contest. Dianne Grover takes home a cash prize of $100.00 — and, just as important, well-earned bragging rights. She correctly identified 14 out of 37 photos. The names will be posted beside the photos in the chalet for those that missed the reveal!
